In the company of our highly skilled marine biologists, you’ll spend a day observing and studying dolphins, sperm whales, and other cetaceans in their natural habitat, while enjoying the beauty of nature in all its forms.
You’ll be part of a scientific mission, collecting valuable data to help protect these gentle giants and their environment.
Every sighting will be a shared thrill and a chance to unlock the secrets of the deep blue!
We’ll meet at 9:00 AM at the Marina Corta (Lipari) or Pecorini mare (Filicudi) meeting point (pickup from the port available if needed).
Before departure, we’ll hold a short briefing introducing the cetaceans of the Mediterranean Sea and the methods used to study them.
You’ll also learn about ongoing conservation projects in the Aeolian Sea, our partners and collaborators, and why your involvement is key in this meaningful journey.
At 9:30 AM sharp, the adventure begins!
You’ll be welcomed on board by the skipper and one of our intrepid marine biologists, who will go over basic navigation safety rules before setting sail.
The route won’t be predetermined, but will follow the most vibrant coastal areas and seabeds — the ideal habitat for sea giants.
We’ll let nature guide us, interpreting the wind, currents, and weather conditions from the days before your trip.
Our main goal will be to admire and connect with the great marine inhabitants.
This requires patience and constant observation of the sea surface, watching for unusual ripples, blows, splashes, and fins.
The best days are calm and windless — conditions we’ll actively seek in the most sheltered areas of the Aeolian Archipelago.
There are no schedules or appointments when it comes to wildlife: we’ll be looking for wild animals, free to roam the open sea and capable of traveling great distances quickly.
This means that sightings cannot be guaranteed and long hours of sailing may be necessary, but don’t give up — a single sighting delivers emotions strong enough to last a lifetime.
The active participation of everyone on board is always a great help: you might be the first to spot a cetacean!
Around 12:30 PM, we’ll begin approaching the coast of the island that you select to visit (Alicudi, Salina, Vulcano, Stromboli and Panarea) for the first of two snorkeling breaks of the day.
We can’t say exactly where we’ll stop, as it depends on where the cetaceans led us earlier.
What we can promise is to always take you to the most iconic and stunning spots of the Aeolian archipelago, such as Pollara in Salina, Scoglio galera in Alicudi, Strombolicchio in Stromboli, and Panarea’s underwater gas vents.
Here, you’ll be free to dive and swim, or join our biologist for a guided snorkeling experience that combines the beauty of the sea with the wonder of marine life.
You’ll observe rich marine flora and fauna, learn to recognize different species and their role in the ecosystem, and grow your appreciation for the fragile beauty that surrounds us.
After this refreshing break, we will take a break for the lunch time in one of the most beautiful location of the island.
Around 2:00 PM, with full bellies, we’ll come back toward our departure point, still keeping our eyes on the horizon in search of more signs of life.
This moment is dedicated to questions, reflections, and above all, sharing the powerful emotions we experienced — memories that will last forever.
Once we reach the coast of Vulcano, we’ll stop for the final snorkeling session before returning to Port around 4:00 PM.
This activity is suitable for adults and children aged 10 and up.
Wheelchairs cannot be brought on board, but feel free to contact us directly — we’ll be happy to explore all possible options to help you join us.
The boat used is a 10-meter inflatable RIB with twin engines, equipped with a sunshade canopy and a sunbathing area.
The activity is available from June to October and is confirmed with a minimum of 6 participants.
Please arrive at the meeting point at least 20 minutes before departure.
The meeting point is not accessible by public transport. It can be easily reached on foot from the port of Vulcano (about a 20-minute walk, 1.4 km on mostly flat terrain), or you can contact us to arrange a shuttle service.
Pets are not allowed on board.

Our excursions are carried out with full respect for the marine environment. Loud noises or any behavior that may disturb the cetaceans are not allowed. Throwing food into the sea is prohibited, as is playing loud music on board.
Dolphins, whales, and sperm whales are wild animals, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. In case of no sightings, the ticket cost will not be refunded.
Excursions are only conducted under good weather and sea conditions, and may be canceled in case of adverse weather.

The experience takes place in open waters — we are guests in the home of dolphins and all the marine creatures that inhabit it.
It’s important to note that our whale watching excursions may be cancelled in case of bad weather or rough seas — not only to accommodate guests who may not be used to being at sea, but also because weather conditions strongly affect the chances of spotting cetaceans.
Ideal conditions include calm seas and no wind.
Sightings can never be guaranteed, as we are observing wild animals.
What we can assure you, however, is that our decade-long experience as cetacean researchers significantly increases the chances of encountering dolphins, such as striped dolphins (in open sea) and bottlenose dolphins (near the coast), as we operate in areas they regularly inhabit.
In addition, the use of specific scientific tools — such as a hydrophone to hear the “voices” of cetaceans and underwater noise, and professional binoculars — will further enhance your chances of a sighting.
Our researchers and marine biologists will be on the lookout throughout the entire journey, both outbound and return, continuously collecting data useful for cetacean studies.
You and all other participants are welcome to observe and take part in this scientific phase if interested.
You’ll also receive explanations and naturalistic insights, including how to recognize the species you may encounter and understand their behavior.
Each sighting is carried out following a strict code of conduct designed to minimize disturbance to wildlife and promote the sustainability of our activities.
If weather conditions prevent us from departing, each participant will be entitled to a refund or rescheduling of the expedition on the next available date.
If the departure is canceled for other reasons not directly related to our activity, a personal travel fee refund is not provided.
In the special case where you need to change the departure date or modify the excursion destination, don’t hesitate to contact us — we’ll find the best solution together to suit your needs.
We cannot guarantee the sighting of cetaceans on every expedition, as it depends on highly variable factors such as maritime traffic. However, thanks to our experience, we have designed our expeditions in locations and at times when sightings are most frequent.
